Chapter 1 continued.

There'd been this dream, which had darkened into nightmare, and broken, sunny side up into day. The clouds suspended their formations, and the cloudwatcher from the bench, sat up in surprise. She checked the reflection through her watch, through the sea and then directly up at them again. What was happening up there?? Nothing. Nothing. Hours, into days. A whole week and a month. Finally they descended. A fog occurred, a fog that deepened, that weighed heavily and then more heavy. Water everywhere suffocating. Strong. Gathering. Around the mountain! Another month passed. What Was this? Climate change? Then another month. This fog was becoming a tourist attraction. Never had this quite little town been so popular. The clouds seemed benign. They were lucky. Suddenly one day, it became apparent that the mountain was being moved!! There was this gap formng at the bottom. The clouds had gathered around the bottom. Dense as dense could be. All this concentration seemed focused on...no it couldn't be...lifting the mountain. What was causing this? Consciousness? God? Then the pilgrimages began. Never had the town been so busy. Time to become a City now! A year passed, and the mountain seemed to be lifted quite some way from the ground. Scientists started to investigate. Never had war zones around the world, or lewd Political scandals or even gossip about celebrities from the latest reality TV show received so little attention. The news, like the very clouds themselves were absolutely focused on this mountain.
